Cassette Upgrade

I recently stuck an 11-28 cassette on my road bike as I've been doing a lot of hill training. At 1st it was a life saver. Now after a couple of months of practice I find it annoyingly easy and get that frustrating feeling of pedalling like mad and going nowhere fast. Considering putting the 11-25 back on now.

So the motto is (I suppose) - don't waste too much money - use an 11-28 cassette as a "training aid" and tackle loads of hills. You'll soon improve to a point where you don't need the "granny gear" anymore.

I think my technique was severely lacking. I cycled in to work today and made sure I sat up and back on the bike on the lumpy bits, found an easier gear and kept spinning. My calves know they've done some work but the results I logged on Strava have really cheered me up. 7 PB's, 5 of them on climbs. I think I will try an 11-28 cassette, leave everything else as it is and work harder. Today has really spurred me on.

Just me thinking aloud..
If you are going to change the cassette you might as well go for a 30 or 32 big cog.. Good luck with your choice.
