Cassette Replacement issues

I've taken my old 9 speed Cassette off the bike, rebuilt the hub and now I've come to refit a new 9 speed Cassette it seems to big. The 11t gear stands proud and I cannot get the lock ring on.
Any ideas?

Cancel request.. It would appear Spa Cyles have sent me an 8 Speed Cassette not a 9 Speed as ordered (not to mention sending me gear cables instead of brake cables!
