Cassette & Freewheel Splines?

I have just broken a tooth on my bike with the 8 speed cassette; are the the splines on shimano Hyperglide cassettes the same as on freewheels? I have a splined tool for removing/installing 5/6 speed freewheels, but will I need to buy a new tool when I get the new HG cassette?

You are OK.

however, just for clarity, and anyone else...
The splines are not the same - they are 0.5mm high on the 5/6 freewheel tool, and 1mm high on the lockring tool. As a result, you can use a freewheel tool to take off a lockring, but a lockring tool won't fit in a splined freewheel.
A lot of bike shops don't realise that they are different, and will sell you a lockring tool to get a freewheel off.
