can anyone help me on this question, are there suppliers of full or parts of cassettes so that I can set up the gear ratios to my personal preference.

Reason for asking is i have a 10 speed dura ace & have various cassettes with 11-21, 12-25, 12-27. I ride a few sportives a year & the tough ones eg Maratona D'Les Dolomites require big gears & the issue i have with these ratios is that the climbing gears are very widely spread ie 21, 24 & 27. The 27 is used on the really steep parts or when fatigued but if I want to change up the jump to the 24 can be too much. Personally i would prefer less of the 12-19 and have the last 4 gears of 21, 23, 25, 27

anyone know who can supply this ?

cheers

Marchiso supply cassettes made up of individual sprockets;

You could build your ideal setup using those...

A decent LBS will build you a cassette with whatever sprockets you specify.

The cassette is a series of sprockets and spacers with a locking ring.

What you buy 'ready made' are a sensible series of teeth increments all riveted together with the spacers.

If you have a chain whip and the lockring removal tool, you can do it quite easily.

But, building bespoke is more expensive than 'ready made'.

If you do choose bespoke, chart out the gearing on a spreadsheet to check the ratio spacings are a smooth progression and there is not a treble step ( unless you want one :smile: )

^^^ yeah but it is the big sprocket that are riveted togeter, on the alloy spider of the topper range shimano for example. In theory it is a DIY job to swap them round but I have never done it let alone thought about it.

I think the lesser ones fit directly onto the freehub so should be easier to do, just fit spacers in between.
