An old neighbour of mine had a lampost/Elise interface.
He'd been messing about on roundabouts and suddenly lost it on one, he'd been nailing them all day and hit a patch of diesel they think. He was very lucky to walk away from it. He got another Elise.

Naturally!

Cars have never floated my boat.

I would have a TVR Tuscan Speed 6, in blue. Not seen many of them about which makes them cooler.

You don't see 'em 'cause most are in the garage getting repaired. Anyone who runs a TVR needs to run two cars and have deep pockets. Most come with their own breakdown truck as part of the deal.

It's a strange thing.

I used to dream about what car I'd like to own, but when I got left some money - enough to buy a 'dream car' or two - I kinda lost interest:sad:

Hmmm. Probably a Lotus Elise or a Seven. There's something about the sheer minimalism of Lotus designs that really gets to me.;)
But what I'd really like is one of the LotusSport bikes, as used in Barcelona. Most gorgeous bike ever.

One day I would like to own a Mercedes. Anything will do really - even a Mercedes sprinter van. They are great vans!

We've got a camper van on a Sprinter with the 156BHP engine. It just churtles along all day. One of the few with rear wheel drive (not the new ones though?) - 4 bike carrier on the back of course.

But would love a volvo FH16 660 with big side pipes and a roar valve.

I've never driven the FH16, but I've had a few FH12s over the years. Not as good as the big DAF 95s, in my opinion.
As for cars ... I think a C or D type Jag would do it for me. With maybe something unique, like a Rolls Royce estate conversion (if such a thing exists) for practical purposes.

Sorry, but I like them.

Quite right too. They're fantastic cars. I had five or six over the years, including one that I built from the remains of two dead ones. I used to use them for off roading in the Peak District, among many other things. It's amazing where they will go!

It has got to be an Aston Martin DB9, truly the most stunning car in the world.

Currently I running about in our second car, a clapped out old 1.3 escort (n reg) and to be honest, I am quite enjoying it, no depreciation to worry about and simple to fix.

For day to day use, if I needed a car for that sort of thing, a proper old Mini. Maybe a pickup or countryman, for practicality.

For long trips, or just swooshing about feeling wonderful, a Citroen DS
