I carry 3 locks with me a Abus D lock a Knog Strongman lock and a Knog coil lock thingy....the Abus and Strongman are tied with bungee rope thingys to my back pannier rack and the coiled lock thingy is wrapped around my seat post or just under my handlebars...I take no chances with my bike...I think 3 locks and different ones at that is quite a good deterent to thieving wee scrotes..

Also forgot to say my Brooks saddle is locked to the frame with a Kryptonite coil lock all the time so I have 4 locks

Blimey Herbie, that's a lot of protection.

If I go out shopping I have panniers in which to put my D-Lock. If I'm on road bike and know I'm going to stop for a short time I take one of these

I got from Aldi/Lidl (can't remember which and have seen them in both). I know it's not very secure and it is only on if I have no other option and I'm going to be away from the bike for only a few seconds. I know it would only take a few seconds to deal with this lock but I wouldn't use it (or leave bike) if there was anyone about.

Like I said I take no chances....my bike is my pride and joy and I would be quite mega p****d off if it got nicked...i'd rather have my car nicked which sounds maybe a bit daft as it cost me more but my bike gives me more enjoyment. hope you decide on some good locks?

I tend to carry a cable lock on the commuter, with 2 x cables at work (that stay on the bike shelter)

However I am upgrading the work lock with a basic D lock from Tesco on offer at the moment for £5.50. It would not put up much of a fight against a determined thief, but would probably disuade a casual bolt cropper attempt.

On the weekend road bike I have only have a cable lock in case I do decide to stop for a snack (not often enough!) I'm in and out of the shop in less than a minute and take the view that early on Saturday/Sunday mornings the scrotes are generally still sparko.
