I see the Merlin bike is £350 for 50cm, +£50 for any other size, still a good deal though. So is the Merlin a better bike than the Triban 500?

Haha! I do a little about Clarris, but not much. I only know they are rated higher than Microshift gears (don't know if any use or not) but still the entry/ basic level gears. Not sure of the hierarchy after that haha.

Ideally I would like this Carrera second hand if I can get it, if not, it's biting the bullet and realising cycling wasn't going to be a hundred to two hundred pound sport that I originally thought haha:laugh:

Thanks for the input guys, great advice and very quick, much appreciated!

Still try the carrera , it might fit
I am 5 foot 7 " and i used a similar size vanquish with an 80 mm stem until i convinced the boss ( aka wife ) it was too big and got a new one on C2W and it depends on your body shape and if it feels comfy or not .
imho there isnt much between microshift and shimano at the "entry " level , they both work but just have different lever set up.I rode a microshift bike for a while and it was fine .

Yea I will look into it firstly, if not I will probably go with the 500SE over the 500, not much of a difference to start.
Will update you all with what happens and what bike I end up getting ^_^
