Carlton Flyer weekend 2020

Despite Covid 19 and all that horror, the Carlton Cycles Facebook Group finally managed to get a rescheduled event on this last bank holiday weekend. 42 made it. A few pics from the event in Worksop, Notts. I rode a Jack Taylor Marathon on the Saturday 70 mile ride and a 1962 Criterium on the 35 mile ride out to Tom Simpson's birthplace at Harworth, Yorkshire. A long drive form Plymouth, where Im based, it always ncie to get up to meeet friends and fellow enthusiasts at the place where Carlton was made famous.

A few more form Saturday, this was a tough day as later in the ride we encountered a lot of wind and rain.

My 1981 Jack Taylor Marathon, the event is open to all steel machines, particularly Carlton and Worksop Sun machines. We also had Raleigh, Hetchins and Dawes too.

Pictures from ride back, the building shown is the Kilton Road factory Offices, which were used from 1962 until the early 80s. My machine is the eau d'nil Criterium fully restored...
