Large retailer chasing sales at Christmas.

Wow, I'm really surprised.

You were expecting too much. Even expecting a lbs to do it over the weekend was a lot to expect. If you need it done in a hurry, do it yourself.

After speaking with him, I got straight on the phone to Halfrauds and explained my predicament (need to be using it over the weekend etc). Basically, the response was.......and I will quote this verbatim......."I'm on my own and building bikes for Christmas. Bring it in and we'll have a look on Monday. If it needs parts it'll be another 5 - 7 days"!!! Oh, lovely, so an existing customer, who's had two bikes off of you this year (MTB and road) is told, effectively, eff off, we're trying to score sales for Christmas!!!

As cybernight says , did he not look at servicing the hub , and the lad at at Halfords was honest , he didn't fob you off with a worn out excuses, he will have other customers coming in to collect and you can only deal with what you are doing one at a time if your on your own, nice to see the local bike shop stepped in for a hundered quid when if you waited a week it would be free , i used to work for a joinery company where customers would ring up and come in demanding instant service almost to point of trying to bully the person serving , i used to take great joy in winding them up telling them 2 weeks even if was a cpl of days just to watch there faces go red and end up screaming threats and abuse , the more they did it them more i poked with the wind up stick ,, deep joy
Also we had a WFTT (Wrong football Team Tax) if they supported certain teams we would put the 5% tax on hahaha
