Really appreciate everyone's responses.
I've completely ruled out self-repair. I'll speak to the local repair shop and see what they say. If the repair is over £400 then I'll just invest in a frame.

I'd buy a new frame and swap the components over.

That looks bolloxed to me, I'd scrap it.

I'm with this man. I couldn't trust a frame as badly damaged as this no matter how good the repair.

If you're insured see if you can claim. Meanwhile start looking for a new frame, it's the only solution I would trust.

Agreed, that would be the cheapest way to get it back in service.
The problem is what would the bike be worth when it comes to sale time? You'd have to declare the repair which would put many off and lower the price considerably.

Any frame that required major repair like that should be regarded as a disposable hack bike afterwards. By all means fix it if it clearly costs in, but be realistic; the subsequent resale value of such a repaired machine is going to be very low compared to a tidy unmolested one of the same age.
It's like buying a crash damaged insurance write-off car and fixing it up yourself as a daily driver. You might get loads more useful service out of it, but when you come to move it on, it's used value is very low.

The area of the repair would be a concern (bottom bracket area)

Its not worth a repair IMO.

Keep yourself out of AnE and buy a new Frame.
