Don't know about the China ones. The waste of money usually refers to weight weenies. Why pay £40 for a carbon bottle cage when there's only a few grams difference between that and a normal one for a fraction of the price. Have a look at the Elite bottle cages. They seem popular and are available in a variety of colours. Should be around £8.

Yeah but they look cool, I have them on a steel frame not to save weight or put bottles in, just to carry the wads of wasted cash around with me.

Yes, I've got two and they're as good as any and a third of the price. I wouldn't bother buying a branded one...you'll need a second mortgage.

I use them, they look great, save me a couple of grams, the best thing is they hold my bottles, it's a win win,
