Cash is totally useless in London.
It’s all done via either ringo or paybyphone.
And £5 an hour is not unusual.
I paid £15.80 to park on a street in Southwark for 2 hours last month.

what do you do if you dont have access to either of those methods ?

Cash is king

Not any longer. Many car parks are cashless. I know two cafes on our local cycling routes that are cashless.

There's no legal obligation to accept cash.

There's usually a number you can call to pay. Most machines these days also take contactless payment by card or phone. Some even take coins.

Most of the machines will take card - sometimes only as contactless.
