Suzuki S-Cross 1600 petrol, 2015 model. Full no claims, oldish git, low risk post code etc..

2023 premium £196 (with AA).
2024 premium £320  (still with AA, and yes I did look elsewhere but savings were minimal).
2025 premium £250 (moved to Privilege since AA were still around the £320 mark).

I've got a new EV, just paid Hastings the extra plus admin fee to swap over until renewal in mid May.
Before I bought the car, did some checks.
Cheapest overall is Aviva direct at £383 (granted I get a 10% discount as I have an ancient pension sitting with them), cheapest on Meerkat is almost £500.
Oddly Aviva is £560 through Meerkat?!!

My recent post about NCB , Involves Hastings Direct, and that is not the end of the tomfoolery with them, I had the misfortune to bend my car back in '21, in the midst of the PANIC demic, they recovered the car , then 'lost ' it, I had left something I wanted in it, and I assumed they had taken the car to a local repairer which they had said , given the panic the country was in being in contact face to face, it understandable that things were up the creek, whilst they had it , it wasn't properly repaired ,I refused it sent it back , meantime without a cover car for the whole period of 2 months.
Then last December, I renewed with them, against wisdom, they issued a policy in my name , debited my account , all good .
In the following 12hrs the debited my account for more , in a policy for my brothers name, from my account, he had been the main driver, I was a named driver , even if it was in my name registered at my address, essentially they had committed fraud, by insuring the same car twice to two different people,
What fun I had sorting that out, perhaps against better judgement I should have junked them then.
The latest incident in double whammy g me for the NCB.was the last final nail, I just thought sod it ,I'm leaving.
DO NOT use Hastings Direct.

They handled a claim for me fine in Sept 21 after some **** scraped my car in a carpark quite badly and drove off, but I've no loyalty. They've just been willing to match lower quotes since so stayed for ease 🙄

They incur my wrath for pratting me about, Hastings direct simply have been the worst of all the insurance agencies I've used, and there have been many in my motoring career.
It seems it's got even worse since it's mostly online now ,come the widespread use of AI software it will get worse .
I sorely miss the days of High st agencies like Bodditch & Leggit, go in with your blank blank CHQ book and pen , walk out with a cover note, none of this admin charges, to save a macro pence in the pound we now have.

Just renewed my Model S insurance, moved provider to our multicar policy. This keep our vehicles all on the same renewal date and a little discount

Bonus my old provider had bumped my premium quote. By moving provider saved over £400 pound for the year.
