We got some decent views around here too if you head out a bit, just aint upto longer rides for a while yet.
I didn't run into nearly as much traffic as I expected
Did spot an Adder, which is always fun, being a reptile keeper.

I really didn't feel like I had the energy or motivation to get out there today

But I dragged my backside off the sofa and have just come back from 9 miles, which is not a lot I know, but it is for me

There's a lot of long, but not overly steep hills round here

Must admit though,I'm glad I got out of the Sunday bone idle mode and quite enjoyed it once I removed one of my tops and cooled off

I can never work out how much to wear and usually end up too hot

As long as I breathe, I attack.
No riding this weekend , at work saturday for extra money and that meant rest of the jobs i had planned had to be squeezed into the rest of the weekend.Spent a couple of hours each day painting the drive with tarmac sealant paint and the rest of the time looking after mrs ck who has a chest infection.

Ditto on amount of layers, its always variable I find.

9 miles is a nice amount in my view. Variety is the spice of life

Well done on dragging yourself out. More often than not it is worthwhile if you can get past the front door!

In saying that, I felt the same this morning, and didn't go out. However, given how windy and generally miserable it was when I was out with the dog, I'm glad I didn't go, as I know I wouldn't have enjoyed it. From now until about March, I find myself needing to have somewhere to go, an errand to run or something to get me out.

I've cycled in that area, the club sometimes uses Café Mocha in Banbury, can be a bit lumpy in places.

Indeed, there are a few tricky hills tucked about. Going down one of the roads I didn't know today, enjoying fairly enjoyable flat riding for a while, only to turn a corner and "Oh ffs you're having a laugh"... what seemed like a mountain sprung up out of nowhere lol
Think we've got some decent countyside to cruise around though

Once I'm clear of Coventry there's a lovely network of lanes to enjoy, today I was as far south as Priors Marston, Byfield and Woodford Haslse before turning towards Preston Capes, Farthingstone and on to Upper Stowe. I know what you mean about that side of Banbury, theres some good lumps there. The climb through Shotteswell springs to mind, as does some of the climbs around Warmington, the Herb Center, and the Burton Dassets.

There's a point on that route I took today that looks right our over Burton Dasset Hills, I might have to cycle over there one day. Do you come in off the A361? Good road that.
Ya know I realised today, I used to go out with this girl who lived in Redditch. If I had been into this cycling lark then, I'd have saved a fortune in train fairs going to see her. It probabley would have paid for a really tastey bike!
According to google maps door to door (avoiding highways) is about 35miles. I would have in fact been there faster than I would having gone by train too !

I tend to stay off the main roads as much as possible, I crossed the A361 twice today, on the way out at Byfield and between Newnham and Staverton on the way back

See, miles and miles of A-Road don't bother me nearly as much as 60 seconds on a larger RAB. I hate them
