Folks,

I have finally decided on buying a 2012 Cannondale Supersix 105 after looking at other options from Giant, Scott and Specialized. If I buy a 56cm frame I can get one for £1350 or a 58 cm for £1599. Obviously that's quite a saving. Guy in the local shop did not have any to try but said a Cannondale can come up quite large so a 56cm would probably suit me. I am 6ft and average inside leg/arm reach.

Can any fellow Cannondale riders please help!

Cheers Craig

I have a CAAD 5 Cannondale, frame size 58 cm. I have 32-33" inside leg, normal length arms, and am 6' 1" tall. I use an 11 cm stem.

It sounds like you might fall between the two frame sizes so you could get the 56 and use a longer stem if necessary, or the 58 and use a shorter stem.

Since the 56 is much cheaper, I'd be tempted to go for that and see how you got on with the stem that it comes with. It wouldn't cost much to change that if you have to.

Not quite sure why going up a size would prove more expensive. Have you got a link to these prices?

FWIW, I'm 6'3" and have a 58cm frame on my CAAD8. I thought I'd need a 61 as my previous bike was a 60 but I guess Cannondales come up a little larger.

FWIW Cannondale's do tend to have a slightly longer top tube IME.

At least mine has when compared to the Focus Cayo Pro and Focus Izalco I had before it.

My CAAD10 is a 60cm. I would have gone for a 63 but they are like rocking horse droppings and I'm not convinced they really make them  , but it's fine with a 120mm stem, (I'm 6' 5")

I'm 5' 11" and comfortably ride a 56cm Synapse. You could be looking for something between 56 and 58. Try both if you can!
