You can't go wrong with the Trek or the Cannondale - although you can get the CAAD9 Tiagra for the same price as the CAAD8. Take it you rode them all? What was the Genesis like? Intrigued.

Of course, if you didn't ride them, you need to get some test rides in

I liked the higher spec components on the CAAD8 over the CAAD9.

The only one I've test ridden yet is the Genesis. It felt so good I almost bought it on the spot! Really smooth ride and the speed pick up was fantastic. I currently ride a Marin Fairfax with flat bars so the contrast was just incredible. As this is the first ride I've had on a full road spec bike I'll need to get out on the others to be able to do a proper comparison.

I liked the higher spec components on the CAAD8 over the CAAD9.

Try them both if you can. There's quite a bit of difference in the frames, but you won't notice my difference between Tiagra and 105 (except for the missing sprocket!)

Glad the Genesis was fun - I love my steel framed Charge too

next question for all you suave roadies out there pedals do i go for spd-l or speedplay
my only problem with the speedplay is the only road shoes i have at the moment are a pair of carnac tri shoes any ideas thoughts on this :-)
