So what have you ordered then? I'm confused

that makes 2 of us

If not using the drops, whats the point? Will I gain that much from a road bike?

@william i find myself 95% either riding on "the hoods" or on the flat section very rarely on the drops , once you get use to it then i would say more than likely you would .

try one ? if near to Wellingborough feel free to get in touch and come and try one

The Traffic looks good, I wouldn't cancel. Get on your bike and riiiiiiddeee.^_^

(The way I read it is you have a ten year old Avalanche, needs new bits, you don't like drops, so you ordered the Traffic as a replacement? Makes sense. Justification will be the first sunny day when you glide smoothly to work on your shiny new bike. Hope you enjoy it.)

I almost bought a bike from Wiggle , glad I didn't , I got one from a one man band LBS , any probs you can wheel it back in and it gets sorted ( not that there has ! ) I don't know if Wiggle have an agreement with any retailers if anything goes wrong ,if it does ,and they are like Chainreaction , you get a replacement part through the post , no good if you cannot do repairs ,
As for GT , I've got two . One full on MTB and a Hybrid , both xlnt bikes , my Son uses the hybrid to knock around on , my new bike is a Surley ( as in the avatar ) I did a deal with the shop owner , I picked a bike , got to trial the model , went in over several weeks and paid an amount off it , when he had about 75% he got it in ,last payment bike was there waiting ,( also got a modification , only paid for the part , a granny ring ) , no interest , and not as clinical as dealing with web sellers , he really appreciated the business ,
also I didn't fancy a drop bar , my right arm is now permanently bent at the elbow giving me a six in shortfall of reach , I discussed this , we worked it out , it took me a few trips to get used to It but as others say , I am very rarely in the full drop riding position , and will get some of those top bar brake levers
Hope you work it out , Cheers

Isn't just shy of 13 kilos a bit of a lump?

There are loads of hybrids/flat bar road bikes out there that weigh less than that.

And it's grey...fine for accountants but a bit bland for real, living people.

You did want us to talk you out of buying it, didn't you?

I like to do all my own fettling so personally wouldn't buy a bike with hydraulic disk brakes.
nothing wrong with the bike though .Wide range of gears will get you up any hill with loaded panniers. If you like the look then buy it I am sure it will be fine for your commute.

Why confused, I linked the bike I'm referring to.
Thanks, nowhere near though.

Totally understand, I bought my last bike from my LBS, would have also got this one from them, but the free interest was the draw..have to say tho, that my LBS, where I have had quite a bit of work done, are very expensive and last time charged me £2 for oil, whilst also charging me £50 for changing a chain, cassette and cranks, so I do feel the good will is a little one sided.

Great the 2 things I was concerned about you point out, was thinking the weight was on the heavy side, I'll need to weigh my old one and if it'smuch heavier it may go back, good news on the colour, read a review (not many about) the grey is more gold than grey?

Good try tho, the bike arrives tomorrow, that's if I'm in as Wiggle didn't arrange delivery just sent it out and I'm working in the afternoon!!!!

Why no hydraulics? fitted my own and bleeding them will give you as much fettling as you would wish for.
