Can you ride 'tandem?

Hiring a tandem this afternoon so Mrs A_T and I can try one out... we're both excessively excited... can't wait!

I've ridden one solo.....never got Mrs CP onto it.

However, Mrs CP's sister and BiL have a tandem (hardly used) that we could 'borrow' on a semi-long term basis....

I don't know if I fancy having a go on a tandem especially if I was relegated to the back. It would feel too much like being the back end of a panto horse. No comments please gentlemen. I don't like the thought of someone else being responsible for my life on the road.

No. Its better not to let oh be In control of any kind of vehicle other than the ride on mower. by the way, he's welcome to go on that anytime he wants...

I tried it as the stoker and sooooooooo wanted to steer it - felt really strange to begin with but you do get used to it.

Riding tandem is easy.....riding side by side tandem is a totally different kettle of eels......

I'm 6' 5", Mrs Smoo is 5' 1". So no A_T, I very much doubt we can

I am led to believe that small hills are approached at a pace, then powered up/over. Larger hills are approached if possible at speed, then 'endured' to the top.
