Ivan mentioned an audax bike. If you want a do it all bike, then an audax could be the way to go.

It will do for day rides, leisure rides, commuting and light touring. Yes, still light (20Kg say) but it will do it better than the Airlite and it has the fittings for racks and mudguards on as standard.
