So,

I'm looking for some new wheels for my bike... and I'm stuck in a quandary between some either of these.

Is there anything I would need to be aware of when it comes to buying Campagnolo wheels? Will the ~250g make a difference in how they feel? I'm upgrading from a set of Axis Classic wheels that came as standard with my Allez so I'm hopeful that anything would feel and perform better.

Thanks CCers

both will be much better than the axis wheels... the zondas are apparently quite a stiff ride but get good press on here.

can you stretch to handbuilt? 300 odd gets you a cracking pair of stradas with h plus son archetype rims...

Tbf my budget would stretch to ~300 but that would include a new cassette and chain, so if I went for a pair of handbuilts the price would be >£300

The Zondas ride and handle beautifully. I am very glad I went for them over the Scirrocos. Even when the guys in the shop took them out the box they were commenting on how light they are.

Changing the tyres, tubes, and wheels knocked 1.2kg off the weight of my bike! I have really felt the difference.

I punted my old Mavic CXP22s on the bog standard Specialized hub for £80 also, so recouped a fair bit of the cost of the Zondas.
