Record is just plug-ugly, and Dura-Ace kit (other than the hopeless head set, where one simply must have Mr. King's finest) is so reliable. My Dura-Ace hubs have six years and 40,000 miles in them, and the tyre valve will give it any number of swings back and forth.

Other than the top end it's got to be down to price, and Shimano's price advantage has all but disappeared.
