I'm a long time user of Look pedals but would like to switch to Campag Pro Fit for a new bike.

Could any current users please share some thoughts as to what they're like in use.

Thanks

I've never even seen a pair in the flesh but from pictures I've always thought they look pretty clunky. I'm guessing the new bike is Campag equipped and you don't want nasty Shimano pedals on there? :-)

Yes it's all Campag so just thought I'd have some Campag pedals for a change.

I don't expect them to be anything other than excellent but thought I'd check first - I guess there's no one on here using them (not a big surprise).

They seem awfully expensive for something that offers no particular advantage over the competition, and I say that as someone who prefers Campag groupsets to the alternatives.

Is it really worth having a differnet set of shoes with a different set of cleats just of this bike? (I am right in thinking they are different, no?) And if you really don't want Shimano, what about Time, Look or Speedplay or one of the other options that would let you save weight for less money?

I don't know if they work any better but they look very nice and at the price I can get them I don't consider them to be particularly expensive.

I'll actually be fitting them to 2 bikes and I already have a spare pair of shoes to accommodate the different cleats.

I only cycle for fitness and pleasure so I'm not too worried about a little extra weight.

Don't do it ....... Stick with Look!

Campag make some brilliant gear, I'm a big fan, not of these however....

They are superbly made, with super smooth bearings, beautifully finished, but....

They are such a pain in the arse to use..... getting foot No2 in is hard work, your foot needs to be in exactly the right place to clip in, as opposed to 'thereabouts' with the other makes, it's all far too fussy, I've been using Time/Look since the mid 80's with none of these problems, all that scrabbling about drove me nuts, so I sold them on ebay for less than half that I had paid for them....

It's a shame, as once you are locked in they are excellent.

Nobody seems to use them for racing .... could be a pointer.

Have you seen bc's list of bikes he owns, these will be small change!

Funnily enough, my LBS just phoned - my C50 has just arrived from Italy.

Certainly the last one to be delivered to the UK, maybe even the last one made.....probably never know for sure though.

Happy days.

i've allways used shimano SPD-SL and have nothing bad to say about them.
But i know people who have looks and say they just wouldn't change them for the world.

That's very interesting. Not sure how it helps me with Campag Pro Fit though.

Well I've given you an answer which may indicate why they are not too popular, I assume you've missed my comment on page 1 ...
