in these conditions I question whether we get a decent workout frankly. If we are pottering around carefully at low speeds and efforts avoiding coming off maybe we would be better off doing some safer cross training .

I used to go out in snow and ice once but now I'm older and hopefully wiser the risk hardly seems to be worth the questionable benefits.

I agree with you; however my problem is that my bike is my only form of transport and thus my 'Risk' or 'Risk / Reward' analysis is slightly different. I must admit I am glad to see grey sky and drizzle this morning. Good signs of a lack of ice on my planned route.

That said, I will almost certainly post my next message from Casualty now though :wacko:

thankfully I don't have to use a bike to commute as some do. At least I have a choice but I do regret the loss of an excellent exercise opportunity and stress buster.
