Unfortunately the forum, as it has become more popular, has started to attract a certain amount of spam. Hence some of the longer standing members of the forum regarding such threads as this with some suspicion. It is not unreasonable for the members to want to protect their forum, sorry if this comes across as being rude, it is not really intended to be...

No offence taken. Anyone who finds my presence on this forum undesirable is of course free to tell me so. I understand long-standing forum members view their space protectively, but my impression has always been the USP of forums is they are open to all, regardless of how long you've been using them.

Agree spam is a real pain but I suppose that's the downside of being open to all.
