This thread came to mind while I was contemplating tonight's meal. For many households making significant energy savings will be difficult. I've dropped our thermostat to 19⁰ from 21⁰ and knocked a total of 1¾ hours off the heating on/off cycle. I don't know how significant this will prove or if it's measurable.
Possibly for many households other savings will have a bigger impact which is why the thread came to mind. Tonight's meal choice will come from:
Brocoli, cauliflower and pasta bake
Mushroom stroganoff
Vegetable stir fry and noodles
Kedgeree (fish is a bit pricey)
I'd argue those are healthier and more cost effective savings than turning down the thermostat. Certainly easily measured.
