Cable routing front mech

Any help appreciated here, when re-cabling a front mech after the cable goes through the router on the bottom bracket, where does it go then?
Should it thread through any part of the derailleur or over any part for leverage or does it go straight on to the pinch bolt?

If its a top pull then it goes straight in the pinch bolt.

if your cable goes under the BB then it will usually go through the small hole and feed round to the pinch bolt.

Some derailers, particularly MTB ones, can be routed for top and bottom pull.

Also don't forget that the cable can only be anchored in one position under the anchor bolt. You'll see a little groove there. If you mount the cable at the opposite side of the groove, you effectively change the length of the lever and obviously shifting is then all wrong.
