I've had my head split open with a baseball bat

Neither hurt as much as a stray strand of gear wire in the fingertip

Short piece of cable shrink-sleeve makes for a neat job.

10 for £1.49 bought today in wilko. @ the op; leave a bit more cable as it makes it easier to pull through when you need to tighten the cable as the blocks wear down, especially if you use a cable puller…
