Just thought i'd tell everyone that after buying my first bike i'd had since i was a teenager (now almost 45 ) last August i completed the C2C Whitehaven to Tynemouth then onto Blyth (home) today.
We started off yesterday & finished off in Alston almost 78 miles later with about 6500 ft of climbing under our belts last night then today it was just a mere 67 miles back home with a bout 4000ft of climbing mainly done inbthe first 20 miles.....never even dreamed this would be possible 10 months ago & would like to thank everyone on this great forum for all the inspiration & advice i've had & also hope this shows some of the 'new starters' that with a little determination & hard work.......anything is possible i suppose !!

Well done! I'm supposed to be doing it in one day in 5 weeks so trying to get a bit fitter at the moment - eek!

7 weeks on Friday till I do the C2C.
What were the climbs like?

I am really looking forward to it

Do you really want to know ?? ha ha..........very very hard i found them, don't think i did enough training on 'proper' climbs if i'm honest, all i can say is get out on them hills

By the way, my mate who used a Tricross over this weekend managed perfectly, infact he was always the quickest up those pesky hills.......not even 1 puncture between the 3 of us either
