OK, don't get the the wrong idea... I am looking for a b'day present for my SiL (yeah, yeah, they all say that).

Are these any good? Are there alternatives you might suggest? These are about the right price (I'll be getting two pairs).

The right cycling shorts can be hit and miss for us laydees, so I'd suggest you keep the receipt in case she can't get on with them and need to return them.

Have you chosen the right size?

I'm guessing they were mentioned as possible gifts as not exactly the first thing to spring to mind when buying for a female cycling enthusiast.
Perhaps gift vouchers for a cycling retailer that stocks a suitable selection. Doesn't quite say I care in the same way admittedly but will stop folks like Bluebell72 changing all the locks

How far is she cycling - as I tried a pair of these as they were so cheap, but the padding was useless. I have ended up with several pairs of relatively cheap Tenn Outdoors shorts, which are still a lot cheaper than the big brands, but still have decent padding in. The padding in the Halfords ones is just a thin bit of foam and is hardly worth it.

Thanks, then I won't bother with them.

She did ask for them by the way having seen mine.

Hhhhmmm... maybe I could have phrased that a little better.

Anyway, I'll get her some stepladders instead.

Don't ask
