Very true. I would suggest trying as many on as possible. The best fitting helmet for me, may be someone else's crown of thorns.

I can vouch for the giro Savant and just over half your budget!
While I say they won't give much/any benefit, they won't hurt either. If you really like the look of an aero helmet, then buy one.

You can, and for £59.99 so well under budget. If you shop around you can get a vertigo 2.0 for £98.
Do you really need to spend £100? There are hundreds of sale lids out there atm

I use a Kask inifinity which I believe is marketed as a road/aero hybrid with the vent which you can open and close on the front.
In reality it fit really well and I can close the vent when its raining
