interesting. Evans cycles wont sell it without the wheels but other real bike shops will do. looks like I can save £780.77, although they dont ship it, i would have to fly out. With the bike box that will be around £180. Still a huge saving. Just a little worried if the bike goes wrong once I've got it
Dont forget that if you fly over to Denmark you have the additional costs of flights, transport, accomodation and getting the bike back to the UK and even with Ryanair it is expensive. Everything is expensive here.
You also have to consider getting the bike in a box and onto the flight. I think the box the bike is delivered in is too big to go in the scanner. I tried to send a bike in a normal bike box to the UK recently but the box was too big for the courier Company.
By far the easiest and probably cheapest way is to see if wherever you buy it from will use their courier to send it to you.
Yep thats why I put the £180 flight charge, that includes £120 for the bike under sporting equipment. I could do it in a day or stay overnight at a friend who lives there. I have a bike box which I took on a EJ to Lanzerotti. Think I have it all covered. Just the "what if the bike goes wrong" part
The bike is equally as likely to get damaged of you collect yourself or have it shipped. Why take that risk yourself and cost you considerably more for the pleasure?
Update if anyone is still interested? I went to Denmark and bought my new bike. Instead of £2645 it was around £1800 with the exchange rate. With £160 on flights, £30 on petrol and £80 on a hire car, lucky to stay at a friends place, it worked out MUCH cheaper. No problems, great customer service. Shop and BMC guarantee. Win win.
