IME the hard part is truing the wheel, especially radially. Also do you have a dishing tool? I think it is possible to true up a wheel when it's in the frame

Wheelpro book describes a cardboard dishing tool - and it works very nicely too. I have "upgraded" to one made from a piece of scrap plywood now!

I don't think he was being entirely serious :smile:
Or was he telling you to have stiff drink before he told you how much he would charge ?

Couldn't agree more. I bought the book a couple of years ago, and I've just built my 10th (perhaps 11th) set of wheels (I got roped into building for friends who couldn't be ars*ed to learn).

Pretty much everything you'll need to know, and a lot you don't, is presented in an easily accessable manner...a great little book.
Bought it this afternoon and it is immediately accessible, even to a novice like me: at £9 this will pay for itself in no time at all.

This joins The Long Distance Cyclists' Handbook on my list of "recommended reads"!
