Bus driver disciplined for attempting to run over cyclist

At least compare like with like. A train is a totally different proposition to a bus although collision with either is going to be fatal, a train is like a supertanker, it takes an age to stop a train from high speed and age to get up to speed.

And railways have their own specific legislation applying to trespassers on the railways. I think most people realise that tresspassing on the railways is an offence and frankly suicidal.

But this bus driver appears to have deliberately driven over the cyclist who fortunately jumped clear what ever the rights and wrongs of him being where he was.

Spot on crankarm. Trains can't stop easily. For the bus incident, two different papers had quotes from passengers saying the driver saw the cyclist a long way back, and had plenty of opportunity to stop.

I'd like to think that a stupid mistake from someone (drunk, drugged, depressed, kids, simpleton etc) wasn't punishable by death. Mind you, this is the land of Tony Martin.
