you can always strenghten it from the inside, for example cut a strip from a plastic milk carton you can get in Tesco (or any other supermarket; in fact, it does not need to be a supermarket as a corner shop will suffice)

note the the edges of the plastic can chaffe the inner tube so you may want to put a piece of inner tube over or some insulation tape.

should only be used as an emergency get me home type of measure, unless you are a tight wad.
