Should have been left a bit longer in front of the bolt. Less chance of splitting and a bit more protection for the feet.

Where's the squeaking coming from?

Thinks its the rear axle flexing had a right camber on it by the time we had finished

Held in place along its length?
In to places as far out as I could go so flexes on the ends a bit so going to upgrade to 12mm I reckon... still had the nuts winding off issue so got to glue them in place
Get it fastened in the centre at least.

Try tapping the ends of the threaded rod over slightly. Making it just that bit wider, as well as "closing" the thread off.

Its held in the middle by running through a hole only slightly in the chassis. Its held in place at the U bolts by washers and nuts each side to stop sideways motion. Think it definitely needs to be a 12mm diameter bar..... It might even take my weight then ^_^
