Buckled Wheel (again)...Repairable?

I dont know how I have done it*, but my wheel, instead of being truly circular, has a small section, about 3-4" long which is flatter than the rest of the wheel. Was interesting riding in to work this morning! Felt like I was riding over a brick every time the wheel rotated!
Before I make the journey to my LBS, I thought I would pose the question here. Obviously, for costs sake, I would rather repair instead of buy a new wheel. Is it repairable?

*I did have a P******e over the weekend which I repaired; and it seems to have derived from that...? Possibly maybe!

Thanks in advance. If it make any difference; the bike is a Trek T10 Navigator. Wheel is Matrix 550 apparently.

Anil.

Without seeing it, its impossible to tell but it'll probably just need radial truing.

You sure it is the wheel, not the innertube/tyre?

I was thinking that it could be the tyre. I tried another tube and the same problem.
Are the tyres prone to distortion? I have done nearly 1500miles on the same Bontranger tyres.

I shall see if I can get a photo of it.

when you have the tyre off, spin the wheel. you'll then know if it's wheel or tyre related.

Easy when you know how! Thanks 400bhp. Very useful.

If it's a flattened rim it's unlikely to be repairable, but it's also unlikely that you would damage it like that without noticing (unless you normally bounce up kerbs). Commonest problem with tyres is the bead not seating properly. Often it's because the valve wasn't pushed up into the tyre before inflation. The tube then sits under the bead at that point.

All sorted! Thanks for the help and advice.
I removed tyre and tube, and replaced; ensuring that the tyre beading was in the correct place all the way round the wheel. Seems to have done the trick. Thanks to 400bhp and Ian H especially.
