Nope I'm happy with it...As I originally intended to use it on the trainer anyway freeing up the Audax.

Take it back and buy the flat bar version, it seems that you don't want drop handlebars, nothing to do with the sti's or maintenance.

Don't need to.I can convert it as I have done so before.No I don't want a flat bar.

Good idea but not really my cup of tea.

On a side note as clearence looks a bit tight does anyone know if the BTwin takes 700x25? Cheers.

The sti levers are not difficult to maintain. But if you must is this any good? https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gear-spares/origin8-down-tube-shift-adapter-286318mm/

I doubt if the Origin 8 adapter, or any other, will fit the downtube of the bike in question here.
The Triban 500 has a fairly large 'triangular' cross section downtube I think.

Yeah it doesn't fit but thanks anyway.Looking to use the Triban on the turbo trainer to free up the Audax.Oh well I'm happy with the bike it's different and it weighs less.Will try it out sooner or later.It's the cheapest bike I've bought for twenty years.
