How is this so? Specialized frames are made in Taiwan (I think) and the Triban in Italy with associated EU production costs. Just asking.

I don't know what point you're trying to make here, that the triban is sold at a loss? We're not talking about hand shaped lug work or hand laid carbon sandwiches here, both frames are knocked out of a production line for <£50 each.

I wasn't trying to make any point, as I said, "just asking"? I still am just asking, if (and I have no idea) frames are knocked out at <£50 each wherever, Taiwan or Europe, then manufacturers would surely have them made in Europe, if only for the marketing opportunities?

None of the big players in frame making suffer for having their product made in Taiwan, so consumers don't seem to care. The difference in having them made there or in Europe is that Taiwan is much more organised in its set up to mass production of these things. It's not some haven of slave labour out there, the people involved are highly skilled at what they do. They can turn out enough units to satisfy demand and change elements in a heartbeat. These kinds of facilities just don't exist on that scale in other parts of the world.
