On BT Infinity, had it for 2yrs now, don`t think I could downgrade again to normal ADSL ^_^. Currently get 40 down 10up which is more than adequate .Very well connected we are with 3 laptops and tablets along with Xbox live. Not a blip from it just works, however its pricey so going to phone up and see if i can get it cheaper (Sky are offering a cheaper deal)
Just to add phoned up and got offered a discount as well as speed upgrade obviously signing up for a further 12 months. Going to check out a sky deal first and then decide, might see if BT can throw in one of those you view boxes for free

BT are a useless bunch. I would not have any connection with them even if it were free.
Try getting a fault sorted out.

That's exactly what I said when they called me a few weeks ago :-)

BT "Hello, we'd like to offer you 3 months free if you move your broadband account to us"
Me "No, thank you"
BT "Did you understand that I'm offering 3 months for nothing"
Me "Yes, I understood what you said but I wouldn't have BT intenet even if it was 12 months free"
BT "So you are not interested in saving money, right?"
Me "Of course I am but I'm also interested in keeping my sanity"
BT "have you had a bad experience with us?"
Me "My son had BT internet for one year - I saw how BT messed things up from start to finish - No thanks, bye bye"

Tonight.... phone call from my mum who has early stages of dementia, but still lives just about okay on her own...I check everyday....

Mum: Sean, I've bought the Internet
Me: Great mum what have you bought.
Mum: I don't know, the man from BT said it would be easy to put together.
Me: Did you ask for internet and what has arrived?
Mum: Three boxes, and lots of cables.
Me: What does it say on the boxes?
Mum: BT vision and Homehub3, I cant see anything o the other box.
Me: I'll be up to see it on Friday, can you wait until then, if not ask the carers to look at it.
Mum: the man on the phone said it straight forward.

Me.......fwecking pissed off that some salesman has obviously took advantage of someone that has know idea what the IT equipment does and has yet still sold it to her......I have know idea whats involved so far and really anoyed I cant really sort this out until Friday....I hope its not a cold call with a sale to my Mum:cursing:

My place of work is in the process of installing a 'Microwave' broadband system; it is alleged that we will get 100meg up, 100meg down... Can't wait to see if that works :hyper:

Get on the blower to BT and complain; explain her circumstances and get them to take it back!

That is really appalling!
British Gas have a thing where they go around worrying old people with horror stories of what happens if you dont have their call out cover.

Rogues.

On Tinternet - I use and recommed Zen. Not cheap but I run a business from home so commercil package of line and internet from them. They come out top of customer satisfaction polls and I have found them great.

If horror stories of BT is not enough then surely just their adverts with the stupid students is enough to put you off. I stopped using Swift for insurance because of their horrid adverts.
BTW Plusnet is just BT under a different name.

I repair computers for a living and I often turn up to find older people who have an old pc say 5 - 7 years old and have been sold BT infinity on the promise of it making the computer faster, these people use the computer for shopping and email a couple of times a week and get saddled with £30 a month broadband contracts.

BTW Plusnet is just BT under a different name.

Plusnet are a damn site better than BT though. I have plusnet and the package I got would be £23 more if I got it through BT and so far cant fault the service or the customer service, but I wouldnt touch BT broadband with a barge pole.
