17kg? FFS! But it does have 18 gears.

Cubester was giggling the other day. Kid at school asked him how many gears his Ragley had. Cubester told him it had 18 to which the kid told him it must be crap, 'cos his Apollo has got 21 gears. Cubester tried to explain double and bash over a 9 spd cassette, but eventually realised he was wasting his time.

I was going to say ... get ready to salvage any bits that you want ... but looking at it I can't see any you would want.... reflectors anyone? ... actually I'll have the pedal reflectors when he gives up or it falls apart (you can never have too many of them as they keep falling off  ).

I take it, it is a done deal ...

BSOs do have a big plus side, they are cheap enough to get more people cycling. Many of whom will stick with it and go on to purchase better bikes.

I'll ride behind him for you and wait for them to fall off

Unfortunately it is a done deal, he rode to work on it yesterday.

He already cycles on a Decathlon Sport road bike, this is apparently for a bit of off road riding.

Hmm I was pondering this the other day, if you buy a crap bike and subject it to proper off road stuff, is it more likely to suffer some kind of life threatening failure than a crap road bike?
