Having spent two days ensuring I knew how it worked etc with the website and down and uploading routes etc, I activated my maps, wich was accepted and it rebooted, lovely, get on the bike open planned route---- nothing! No maps!!! 7 times I have activated the. Maps and each time it accepts it and then says no maps in use!

Any ideas from the forum, as I cannot afford the garmin version but this unit is about to be launched arghhhhhhhh

I had problems initially getting the maps sorted out when I got my Bryton 50 in May last year. After contacting their tech support, it turned out that I was not inserting the supplied SD card fully, so the maps were not being loaded off the card. You need to feel the click as the card goes in and sometimes it takes more than the blunt end of a finger to get it there. I did write back and ask them to add the problem to their FAQs, but I don't know if they did that.

The unit has worked fine ever since, but I've only ever used the maps twice to follow routes that I've downloaded.

Cheers boydj I finally got hold of tech support by moaning on twitter and they gave me another email and have promised to sort it by the end of the day,

The kit is or seems pretty good but the support is a bit sketchy to say the least

I have just used my Rider 50T for the first time (only the unit itself)
All seems OK, love the layout etc.
However, should I be able to zoom into the maps a bit more? I haven't uploaded a route or navigated anywhere yet but when I switched to map mode I cannot zoom further than seeing the whole of the UK! I would have thought it should show the road I am on or something?
Thanks!

If you push in the joystick it should then bring up the zoom function, joystick up to zoom in.HD maps are overkill imho and I managed perfectly fine navigating europe on the pre-installed std maps that still had all the poi (campsites etc) on them as well as the entire eurovelo network pre-mapped, is this still the case, or have they gone more commercial now?

On full zoom I can just see the UK (and some of France!)
I have put the map key in but in settings/map/about it says No map is used - is that right?

Seems like the same issue I have - did the clicking the card back in and re-entering the code fix it or did Tech support do something?

You used to have to connect the unit to the interweb through the Bryton website in order to choose which map to activate when you first start out, don't know if it is still the same or if you have already tried this?

Nothing comes up when I connect to the PC so that hasn't helped.
The blue button is fully zoomed in, there is no where else for it to go.

Any more ideas - very frustrated and this may be going back to Hellfords tomorrow....
