I'm a long time Brooks user, but would suggest given the lack of time that it might be a high risk option. You might be better off with something like a charge spoon.

I inherited a gel saddle on one bike and tried it. Worst sore backside I've ever had on a bike.

I'm guessing that this 300 mile ride is actually going to be several days adding up to 300. If so then it's more achievable from a low base.

I did the LVIS audax last Sunday - the most popular saddle seemed to be a Charge Spoon. I certainly find mine very comfortable (and it's cheap), but I did a mere 140 miles!

The 300 miles is over 5 days, but we do have some mountains to go over on the Isle of Harris. I have no doubts that it's going to be the toughest thing I've ever done, but I'm mentally prepared for that. I think it'll be fine. We have B&Bs booked for each day and I'm sure that the lure of a cold beer each night will be enough to get us through.

I'll report back when I've done it and let you know how I got on.

I'll take a look at the Charge Spoon. I think there are enough people to say that a Brooks isn't for me, this time. Maybe it's something I'll look at for next time.

actually, if your arse is brooks shaped 200km in cycling bottoms with no padding in is, ime, entirely doable without discomfort.
I'd go further Greg - I once tried padded shorts with a B17 to see what they'd be like, after having it suggested as a good idea.

The saddle was perfectly comfortable for all day riding without padding, but severe soreness set in after 1 1/2 hours with the padding. Changed into normal sports shorts and rode for the next 7 hours. I was less sore after 8 1/2 hours than after the first 1 1/2 hours!
