When I read "palace" I thought maybe King Charles had signed a bunch, or maybe they were by royal decree. The last thing that never crossed my mind was skate boards. That said I don't find it particularly attractive. It should come with some sort of skateboard rack, or maybe a special bag with straps for a skateboard? All that aside, it seems if they did a special color every week or month and only made a small batch (like 100 or fewer) and made 'em a radically different color like bright red, day glo orange, bright yellow, stripes etc... It would sell as they would be very exclusive, or people would just like the color...

Interesting that the painting used to be done off site. The older bikes do seem to hold up much better. they don't seem to have quite got it right.

I would like mine repainted, but it's expensive. Guess I'll have to keep it as it is in bashed about red.
I fancy the camo finish, wish brompton would offer better choices.
I did a survey not long ago asking whether I would be willing to pay for brompton supplied upgrades Maybe they are listening at last

Perhaps actually most Brompton customers are people in their 40s, 50s and 60s. Therefore it could be that Brompton just tries to expand the brand awareness in younger age groups with that move.

I am 57 and my nearly new P line will last the rest of my life. They need to appeal to the youngers as otherwise the business dies with us oldies.

Brompton are not conventional cycle makers, they are facilitators of urban transport. Their customers are old and young and anyone in-between. If you need a folder in an urban environment there's really no other choice if you want the best possible option. I don't think it's an old/young thing.
The problem Brompton have is finding new markets for their product as existing ones are getting saturated. So they produce these limited editions to give some exclusivity and maybe extra appeal as you say.
