I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Sadly, we missed the end of the women's race by just a few minutes. Great location for the whole event I thought and well organised in general. We were chatting with the farmer that owned the field just outside Barley that everybody decided to tramp through. (Illegally). He was resigned to losing a small percentage of his silage crop but was generally quite cool about it. Interesting contrast in refreshment options; pie, peas and chips in the pub - £9.95, pie and peas in a tray from the village tea shop - £1.50.
