No chance with a hacksaw on the lock itself, i wouldnt even waste my time.
With all the right equipment you've got several options.

Save the padlock. It is possible (with the right stuff) . A welding rod, grind the tip into the finest point you can, and sometimes you can extract the broken key (i have managed this before, but sometimes it doesnt work)

Remove the padlock. Disc cutter with a cutting blade.

You could cut the hasp and save the padlock to see if you can get the key out later. Good padlocks are expensive.

Virtually no chance of drilling the lock, you'll just break the drill bit in all probablity.

Or find a way of getting to the screws...or if you need to get in the shed first, you can sometimes knock the pins out of the hinges.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
When my stable was broken into the staple was cut with bolt cutters - much softer than the padlock, then the door lifted off its hinges and pushed inwards ......... the thieves appeared to have an intimate knowledge of door hanging technique!

I managed to solve this problem once before,
You need a top hat, a cape, and a crystal ball.
Put on the top hat and cape, hold the crystal ball in the air with your right hand and shout OPEN SESAME!
