what brands do you have across more than one bike that are first on the team sheet, so to speak, when upgrading bits that came as standard (or specified from new)?

me:

vittoria tyres and inner tubes
deda elementi bartape, stems and seatposts
look pedals
elite bottle cages

If Campagnolo make it, I'll buy it. LBS are Hope fanboys so will probably start to accumulate more of that. Vittoria tyres. Carradice bags. Developing a fondness for Lezyne tools and accessories.

I try and replace the bits on my bike with what was on there. If they lasted that long then it must be good stuff. That said I have changed my dynamo lights to some German Busch and muller things from Rose bikes after some internet research.

Oh and I ditched the worn out octalink for hollow tech2 on the crankset . The rest of drive train is Shimano but the next level up . The chain was KMC as standard !!

I kept the schwalbe but went to marathon plus tour as they had a better tread pattern than the plus. And were cheaper .

All three of my MTBs have SLX or XT brakes, Schwalbe tyres, XT shifters, cranks and cassettes, XT or Zee mechs, Rockshox Reverb seat posts, Charge saddles (all Spoons except one Scoop), Stans rims (Crest, ArchEx,and Flows) and two of them have Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs, one has Superstar hubs, two have XT cranks, one has Hope cranks. No brand loyalty for forks -Magura, Rockshox, X Fusion. Bars and stems are mostly On One or Superstar and all have SRAM foam grips, albeit branded IBIS and BBB (identical products) Cubesters MTB is all XT, Reverb, Hope hubs and Schwalbe tyres. Road bikes are both Shimano drivetrain, charge saddles, And one has Superstar wheels and again, Schwalbe tyres. Pedals are Shimano across the board....XT on the MTBs, Ultegra on the road bikes. ,

So. Shimano, Hope, Stans, Superstar, OnOne, Schwalbe, Rockshox,Charge.

I don't buy from Charge or Planet X. The former because they didn't respond to a query I sent them and the latter because of the quite ridiculous amounts of spam they send.

Lizard Skins bar tape, Conti Gatorskins tyres for any road utility cycling, speedplay pedals and shimano ultegra gears for road is about the only brand loyalty I adhere to. ( would be dura ace gears if I had the money)
