I might have done but now I probably won't emerge from bed until late morning! Might go out lunchtime for an hour or so but that's about it

Looks like I’m first then:

Dismal day. Cold, heavy mist that could be mistaken for rain - and greyer than a Battleship…..

10 mile's under the belt saw me at Gorleston on Sea. With the inner Harbour entrance Navigation lights in the background:

Knew this was there - didn’t have to go out of our way to find it either !!

Festive Tree situated at Oulton Broad:

The CEFAS (Fisheries research etc) buildings up on the Cliff at Pakefield, Lowestoft:

On we went to Lowestoft Beach and sea-front. Didn’t feel like a swim today 🤣🤣

Fire-power in abundance !!

The puncture fairy showed her butt-ugly face 😡

50k done. As ever - I lived and enjoyed every one 😁

Mist and drizzle here in Taunton today, but I needed to get out so I put on the lights and started pedalling. As an experiment I'd added 10psi to the usual tyre pressures and I didn't like the result. All the comfort I attribute to the steel frame disappeared.

I headed out through a local tiny park.
Dead and decomposing summed up how I felt.

By the time I reached Angersleigh Church the mood had improved.

I pootled along the bottom of the Blackdown Hills and had a chat with Nick. We say hallo when we pass - about once in every five years.

Stopped to admire the view/mist.

And on all the way to the end of the world.

Tally today:
15 miles
5 cars
8 joggers
5 dog walkers
2 horses and riders
12 "Hello's" exchanged

Grats on getting out when it was far easier not to ! Was ‘horrid’ down here in Suffolkshire.

Madison Flux is OK for me up to about 40 miles. Once the weather improves the Brooks B17 will go back on.

Interesting ! That’s about my mileage limit on a Flux or the seemingly identical Charge Spoon so far (Both seats without issue).

Hopefully some longer rides this Summer doesn’t mean a spanner gets thrown into the works…..😳

The best saddle for me over longer distances is the Spa Nidd. Weighs a ton, and seemingly made of concrete, it is so unyielding, but I get off after 60 or 70 miles without any discomfort.

Try a turbo same shape
more padded.

My mid distance saddle.

Brooks is my long distance saddle.

when new i think i find the spoon better having tried both .The only issue i have is when the spoon gets old then stitching edge gets hard after 4 -5 years and i think is the reason i have had issues as i have been on the turbo bike which has a barely used spoon which is fine .

7 of us out on the Boxing Day Club Run, ‘Round the Forth’. We weren’t sure where would be open for a cafe stop but our route went by The Kelpsies and its open air cafe is open almost all year round.

A flat enough start but a few decent climbs in the 2nd half which saw my MHR up at 95%. I really should fix my rear derailleur so I can use the 39t instead of the 52t. I need to get a new BB too.

The new Christmas gloves were great. It was pretty mild but they kept the peripheral neuropathy numbness at bay.
