buy a hydration pack? camelback look-a-likes are really cheap now.

or bum bag with bottle(s) if you'd not want to keep water on your back.

or weren't there cages that attached to the seat? I think there were you know ....

The rear pockets of your jersey will carry a bottle or two per side. How many do you think you need? I know I'd use three or four big bottles in 100miles depending on temperature. If we have a heat wave and hit 30C or more I'd add two more.

I'll be going on a 100 mile ride in June (see my signature!) and knowing that hydration is important I have attached a bottle cage to the downtube. However, I think I will need two bottle cages and I know that normally you could attach another bottle to the seat tube. However, my front mech is attached between the bolts for the bottle attachment (see pic)
My Sirrus has a similar arrangement but I don't find it a problem most cages are raised anyway. If it was a problem a couple of spacers and longer bolts would solve the problem.

I would of thought the bike would come with these washes anyway, my Giant did.
When i did a 100mile ride(well it was 127mile) i just had two bottles that i kept topping up. I topped them up 2 times i think, it was a really hot day and the ride was hily.
Dont bother with taking up space in your pockets with bottles. Fill this space with lots of food thats going to give you energy, and a few things for near the end when you might be feeling slow(For example, Haribo)

 I'd be worried that the bolts and washers would weigh more than the bottle cage!

To save weight I will just fill the bottle a bit less....

If you bought a bigger bottle you could fill that up a bit less thus having just as must to drink AND saving the weight.

It's an LBS build, i.e. the mech etc was added to a bare frame. I just didn't want to take the bike back to the LBS for a bottle cage!

I was planning on filling up the pockets with goodies!

If you go down the "camelback" route - beware of cheapo imitations, they taint your drink with horrible taste of plastic.

There is someone that makes/sells a bottle carrier that clamps directly to the frame, and adjustable to take different diameter bottles. Can't find the link at the mo.
