Boring Bottle question

The black stopper is the part of the bottle I was most concerned about.

Don't forget to clean inside it as well as outside! I have a teaspoon with just the right shaped handle to scrape inside the stopper once it has been removed from the bottle cap. After a good scraping, I blast water through to rinse it out, and then leave the stopper to soak in sterilising solution.

I started being more fussy because I was suffering from a sore throat when I discovered the hidden stopper-gunge problem. Nasty gunge getting in your drinks can't be healthy!
