Are my shifters too high? Enquiring minds would like to know?

It's whatever suits you but IMO - yes. They wouldn't suit me at all. I have the body of the shifter set up more in line with the top of the bar. Having a look at the Specialized website will give you a rough idea but whatever is comfortable for you is what counts

I had a feeling that I had them too high and on my last build I had comments that my shifters were too low. It never hurts to ask a question, it's the answers that hurt.

Rough attempt at this!! I've tried to draw a line along what I think will be the top of the hood. On my bike it would be closer to the horizontal red line. In fact the bike in the background looks a bit nearer to how I would set up. As I said - it's down to your personal preference. Perhaps see how it feels before your put the bar tape on?

Wow! Well it's taken a while to get the Allez finished but finished it is.

I've changed the wheels, saddle, handlebars, stem and the whole groupset. It's gone from 8x2 claris to 11x2 R7000 series 105.

So I decided to change the saddle from a Rival 143 to a Jett 130 which didn't help me with my hands being glued to the hoods, and then on an impulse (aka YouTube video) I bought a Selle SMP Extra and bingo! My hands are no longer stuck!

Not bad eh?
